She is currently part of a Data Scientist Development Programme at the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) and contributes to the collaborative project developing a National Cultural Data Observatory. This work aims to strengthen the UK’s cultural data infrastructure and address gaps in the availability and consistency of data across the arts, culture and heritage sector.

Rob has lectured in the cultural and creative industries and in virtual and extended realities. Previously, they were a Research Fellow with the British Film Institute and XR Stories on emerging media formats and a researcher with UAL’s AKO Storytelling Institute on the use of arts and culture in campaigns and advocacy practices in ‘storytelling for social good’.

Rob completed their PhD in 2022 on the use of immersive media for interactive documentary storytelling. Outside of the Centre, they are a film-maker and digital artist and a director of the Bradford Digital Arts Lab for emerging digital artists in Bradford.

Steve is an Associate Professor of Creativity and Enterprise at the University of Leeds. His research explores cultural planning and tourism, entrepreneurial identity and creative enterprise, the creative workplace and leadership for fostering innovation and creativity. He routinely works with global partners, advising on leadership in the arts and cultural industries and creative enterprise ecosystems.

Previously Executive Director at LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) she led the strategic strands of the business as well as executive producing international work like The Second Woman starring two-time Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson voted the best show of 2023 (Time Out). Stella has worked in the theatre, festival, and cultural sector for 30 years. She founded The Pivotal Place, a coaching practice and methodology for creative leaders, in 2005.

She is Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan’s representative to Arts Council England, and sits on the Advisory Board at the drama school Rose Bruford. An alumna of University of Wales, Aberystwyth; Middlesex University Writing Centre and Oxford Brookes University Business School. She is a sought- after panelist, speaker, and writer.

Stella is a Cultural Leadership International Powerbrokers Fellow (2008), an Honorary Fellow at Rose Bruford College (2021), was named one of the Alfred Fagon Award 25 Black Theatre Champions (2022) was recently named one of the 100 Black Women to Have Make a Mark (2023) and listed in The Stage 100 power list (2024).

Ava was recently involved as a Research intern for a project within the Centre for Cultural Value, funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, working with Emma McDowell and John Wright to develop content for an online evaluation learning space. She currently works as a Research Assistant for the Speak Up! project with the National Theatre. Ava’s PhD research is funded by a scholarship from the University’s Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.

Ava is proud to be a trustee for Mahogany Opera. From September 2020 – July 2022, Ava was the Project Co-ordinator for the Royal Northern College of Music’s StART Entrepreneurship Project, in partnership Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and University of the Arts, London. She holds a MusM Music (distinction) and MusB Music (1st class) from the University of Manchester.

Rising Arts Agency is a community and not-for-profit (CIC) creativiy agency based in Bristol. Led by young underrepresented creative thinkers aged 18-30, they use distinctive ways of working and facilitating, drawing on years of production experience and an intersectional community to do things differently and create meaningful sector change.

Rising Arts Agency grew out of young people’s frustratings with how inaccessible, exclusive and exploitative the creative sector can be. It was founded in 2016 by artist and facilitator Kamina Walton who, after five years of stewardship, intentionaly handed over the leadership to two young people, Jess and Euella. They are actively continuing this tradition of sharing power with young leaders.

Alex is currently funded by the Horizons Institute and attached to the Centre to undertake a longitudinal evaluation of the My Leeds 2023 Neighbourhood Hosts, a community-based project which aims to work with residents across Leeds to explore their stories and culture. Working closely with the LEEDS 2023 team, Alex will “hang out” with neighbourhood hosts and other LEEDS 2023 project participants. Using this research approach, he will explore the different co-creation processes employed to help inform the programme’s legacy planning.
