Dr Maples is a theatre maker and researcher whose research includes performance based research, commemoration, the performance of collective memory, decolonizing museum and heritage sites, and investigations into cultural institutions and the precarity of labour in the theatre industry. Maples is the Primary Investigator of an ESRC Rapid Response project investigating the cultural, social and economic impact of COVID-19 on UK freelance theatre workers.
